About

Family Health Research

Family Health Research at Cal Poly is a cross-disciplinary network of faculty researchers, students, and staff studying methods to improve family health and reduce long-term chronic disease.

The unit is housed within Kinesiology and is also part of the STRIDE Obesity Research Center. Family Health Research is a unique collaborative environment in which all members are conducting research in families but are bringing unique expertise to the issue.

We are focused on developing and testing effective lifestyle interventions before, during, and after pregnancy to improve the long-term health of mothers, partners, infants, and children, and physiological, biological, psychosocial, and behavioral mechanisms underlying family health and weight changes.
